The LokPilot 5 L finds its place wherever the LokPilot 5 is out of place in terms of performance. Ideally, these are vehicles of nominal size 0, but track 1 vehicles that need to be noiselessly equipped are also conceivable application scenarios. The LokPilot 5 L is mechanically compatible with the LokSound 5 L decoder and has the same connection pins.
Mode:
the LokPilot 5 L is a true multiprotocol decoder. It masters the data format DCC as well as Motorola®, Selectrix® and M4. In DCC format, 14 to 128 speed steps are as natural as 2- and 4-digit addresses and up to 32 functions. Thanks to RailComPlus® the decoders log in fully automatically to a suitable digital control center. It masters all DCC programming modes and thanks to RailCom® the CV values on the main track can be read with suitable control centers. There are ??auxiliary registers for control centers that can only program CVs from 1-255. Motorola® users benefit from up to 28 speed steps with 255 addresses. Three additional Motorola® addresses allow the activation of 16 functions. A built-in programming mode also allows reprogramming with the venerable Control Unit 6021. The M4 protocol enables automatic registration with mfx®-compatible control centers. All 32 possible function keys are offered here. The LokPilot 5 L decoder recognizes Märklin® brake sections as well as ZIMO® HLU / ZACK commands or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake modules or with direct voltage is also possible. It also stops with a Selectrix® brake diode. An automatic commuter train ABC allows automatic commuting between two stations. The LokPilot 5 L decoder can be used on analog DC and AC tracks. The maximum speed can be set separately. The decoder switches “”on-the-fly”” between operating modes fully automatically. Usually nothing needs to be set.
Functions:
each LokPilot 5 L comes with 11 amplified function outputs, each with a load of 500mA. In addition, there are 6 logic-level outputs, which can also drive (2 each) RC servos or SUSI expansion modules upon request. All major lighting functions are available. The brightness of each output can be set individually. The decoder controls automatic engagement and disengagement when disengaging for ROCO®, Krois® and Telex® couplers. Two sensor inputs can activate functions on demand.
Motor control:
The motor control of the LokPilot 5 L has again been fundamentally improved. A variably adjustable PWM clock frequency from 10 kHz to 50 kHz ensures super-quiet operation, especially with clock-anchor motors – the typical “”hum”” is a thing of the past. Load control can now be adapted to difficult cases with up to 10 CVs. Thanks to the unique “”Autotune”” feature, the decoder can be automatically calibrated to the motor. With a motor current of up to 3.0 A, the LokPilot 5 L decoder provides sufficient current even for older motors.
Operational safety:
a PowerPack installed directly on the decoder helps bridge contaminated track sections.
Protection:
of course, all function outputs and the motor output are protected against overloading. We want you to enjoy your decoder as long as possible.
